I can't see a damn thing close up. Left eye is too strong and right
eye is very very week.
My dad had vision problems in one eye. I thought he should get a
monocle. He'd also need to trim his Santa beard down to something a
little edgier for full effect. Maybe a VanDyke with a waxed moustache?
(when I wear them I can't see anything unless it's up close) so about
a month ago I ordered progressive glasses from an online place, and
after a week or two of getting headaches and walking into walls I am
now used to moving my head and not my eyes and voila, I can read all
the time now! ;)
Progressives are a game-changer. My close-up vision is worse than my
distance, and I have some astigmatism. I've been wearing progressives
since 2006, I got my first pair at an optometrist in an old building on
the second floor, and my first steps with them were down an outdoor
wooden staircase. A bit harrowing, but as you mention, you learn to use
the zones of the lenses.
My mom got sick of switching glasses, so she got close up progressives
with no distance correction so she could wear them all the time.
So for me switching to wearing them all the time was just so much
easier.
... My girlfriend said I never listen to her, or something...
